This summer may not have brought the glorious weather we were hoping for but LifewithArt workshops in both The Picture House, Bristol and Monarch Court, Emersons Green certainly didn’t disappoint!

Monarch Court’s workshops with Yate Buddies, an adult day service, included lots of craft including decoupaging vases, and decorating notebooks, boxes and cards. The Buddies left a fabulous thank you card for us along with the request to return at our next occupation as clients ‘are always thrilled to bits with their creations and always leave with a smile on their faces, so thank you for that!’

Bingham Day Services, for adults with complex needs, had a series of wonderful ‘Under the Sea’ themed workshops where everything from colourful jelly fish, whales, sea anemones and fish were created!

Over in The Picture House, members from Bristol Grandparents Support Group (for those who are denied access to their grandchildren), created outstanding paintings of beautiful flowers, seascapes still life and abstract paintings – a great time was had by all! A member of the group contacted us to tell us ‘The sessions with Sarah and Shanti have been fabulous. The safe space, the other people, the encouragement and simply the time to explore art has been amazing.’

Last but not least, Bristol Rethink, supporting those with mental health issues, enjoyed their workshops including creating beautiful rainbows and creating outstanding acrylic paintings! The group have also greatly enjoyed working together and sharing their stories!

We look forward to seeing the amazing outcomes from the groups during the next occupations later in the year.
