It’s been a dramatic couple of months in LifewithArt’s Charity Arts Centre in Peterborough, as children from a local Home Education social group staged their own Titanic themed drama production. First the children made self portrait spoon puppets and then a papier-mâché titanic for the spoon puppet passengers to embark on their ill-fated adventure. The children accessorized their puppets and did a short speech about their characters and life on the Titanic. No Titanic project is complete without icebergs and once those were in place the children were ready for their puppets to set sail.

LifewithArt is very pleased to have taken on some additional space in Churchgate allowing us to display more of our amazing photographic exhibitions. It also means we can have a dedicated arts & crafts workshop space on the 3rd floor and an additional drama space on the 4th floor. The 4th floor drama space was put to good during the Titanic project. Large scale set pieces were constructed and then the children acted out their Titanic themed drama piece.

My children (and I) enjoyed creating Titanic and the icebergs a lot! It was great that there were so many different techniques involved. The kids painted, drew, made little props using all sorts of arts and craft supplies. The Titanic and icebergs looked fantastic! The kids had a lot of fun preparing and performing the play.”
