Lucy Bateman is a community facilitator with a background working as an artist in hospital, school and elderly care settings. Her practice is eclectic, often founded in drawing and modelling- invariably a collaborative process. Lucy has a PGCE in post 14 education and a master’s in Arts & Health. She has been living in South Wales Valleys for over 30 years and was delighted to take on the role of LifewithArt Arts Tutor working out of Gwent House in Cwmbran.

People are instinctively mark makers and I am delighted to be part of encouraging them, however naive or limited they might be, to make their marks. I am always led by the participants, and I thoroughly enjoy the surprising direction and outcomes this shared working can bring. Lucy Bateman
