LifewithArt is pleased to announce the opening of a brand new charity arts centre at 100 Russell Street, Middlesbrough. Bursting with activity, the centre is hosting an array of our favourite exhibitions from Myaware, Riding for the Disabled Association and Teenage Cancer Trust. Not forgetting our very own LifewithArt exhibition which showcases the amazing artwork produced by our clients around the country.

We have hit the ground running and are already building close relationships with the local community. Our creative art workshops are underway in the centre working with clients from 7 different local community groups, charities and care homes. It was an excellent turnout for Down Syndrome North East who engaged in a freestyle clay workshop. The animal theme produced a penguin, a hippo, a snail and even Sponge Bob Square Pants and a hot dog with some ketchup on it! Elderly residents from neighbouring care homes have enjoyed creating exotic landscapes through the medium of collage. Whilst MAP Middlesbrough, who offer support to those seeking asylum in Middlesbrough and to refugees, have tested their creative skills with relief printing and rock painting. We look forward to inviting the Corner House Youth Project to the building, later in the month, and to see what other creative ideas Pui Lee, north-east art co-ordinator, will inspire the groups with.

It is good, it’s perfect here. I forgot about the stress of life waiting to live in Britain. I enjoyed myself.
