LifewithArt has been building relationships with local community groups, residential centres, charities and other worthy partners since our launch in 2010. It’s been a pleasure to work with Orchard Vale Trust, over the years, whose clients have attended LifewithArt workshops in no fewer than 6 of our Charity Arts Centres across the south-west. Creative projects have included vase decorating in Cribbs Causeway, making butterfly bunting in Taunton and my personal favourite – a large scale garden installation complete with craft vegetables and a Rowan Atkinson scarecrow in Muller Road B&Q!

Orchard Vale Trust support adults with learning disabilities to live a full live. They offer community support, day services and residential homes giving their clients a chance to socialise, learn new skills and earn qualifications. Our most exciting project with Orchard Vale Trust came to fruition this summer. LifewithArt is delighted to have donated a brand new, stand-alone art centre built in the grounds of Orchard Vale Trust’s East Court residential centre near Wells. After much planning, the centre was built in just one month by Easy Space Construction due to a clever, new design technique. The art centre will not only be used by the 16 East Court residents but will also expand capacity for day users from the community.

“At Orchard Vale Trust we use art with adults with learning disabilities in both a therapeutic way and to produce beautiful arts and crafts which are always in high demand.  We produce textiles which include weaving tapestry and felting, we have ceramics and painting workshops.  In August LifewithArt completed a beautiful new wooden building which will allow us to develop our work yet further. We are introducing photography, tactile art as well as expanding our range of art and music therapies.

The adults with learning difficulties who we support enjoy the arts and crafts that we offer and the building will mean that we can develop our offer yet further and support more people in enjoying their daily activities. On behalf of Orchard Vale Trust we would like to say a massive thank you to LifewithArt.” Liz Page – Chief Executive, Orchard Vale Trust
