LifewithArt is high-spirited over the 2 new buildings we have recently moved into in Scotland. We are pleased to be exhibiting our fantastic photographic exhibitions, running events and holding our wonderful workshops in New Alderstone House, Bellshill and Freedom House, Aberdeen.

Freedom House, Aberdeen

Groups enjoying workshops in Freedom House include clients from The Len Ironside Day Centre, Sense, Living Ambitions and SACRO. We are overjoyed with the fantastic feedback from those who have attended workshops in Freedom House; a client from The Len Ironside Day Centre exclaimed “A round of applause for the new room!”.

The Art Tutors are equally impressed “It’s a stunning new building overlooking the city’s river Dee. The panoramic curved wall of floor to ceiling windows offers great views over the river and lets light flood into the room. Truly inspiring and just great for an art space; It’s also great to be closer to the city centre for our users to access” – Suzie Guthrie

A thrilling workshop, in Freedom House, included ‘Fluid Painting’ which involved clients pouring layers of acrylic paint into a plastic cup before tipping the cup upside down onto white canvass. The workshop was suitable for all with everyone involved having a great time.

New Alderstone House, Bellshill

Stonehouse – Lifestyles, an organisation aiding individuals with learning and physical disabilities, is a group benefitting from workshops in New Alderstone House.

The group has been involved in a project based around Picasso painting ‘Mediterranean Landscape’; each client chose their favourite part of the painting to draw and paint on canvas. Tutors encouraged different painting and collage techniques. At the end of the project, canvasses will be placed next to each other to create a large Mural!
