LifewithArt is kicking off the New Year with a bang, launching 5 new Charity Arts Centres. The addition of centres in Bradford, Leeds, London, Newcastle and Warrington brings our total to 20 centres nationwide. Sadly our well established and well-loved Arts Centre in Southend, Portcullis House, is due to be demolished on 1st February. Portcullis House has been the base for considerable charitable activity including art workshops, Riding for the Disabled events and not forgetting Maya Lund’s Teenage Cancer Trust exhibition entitled Belle of the Bald. Our thanks go out to Paul Harford, Debbie Hadley, Mara Chrystie, Cathy Cant and everyone who has worked so hard to make Portcullis House the wonderful Charity Arts Centre that it is. We now look forward to the good work we can do in our new centres across the country and welcome all our new arts teachers. We have drumming workshops planned with the Alzheimers Society in Leeds and dance workshops with Khidmat Centre in Bradford together with art workshops with The Columba Centre in Birkenhead to name just a few. 2012 is going to be an exciting time at LifewithArt!
