On 26 November, LifewithArt hosted a community music event at the Borough High Street Arts Centre, bringing together local residents, musicians and participants from LifewithArt workshops. The evening celebrated community music and featured a short film about Jeff Drummer, followed by a live performance from the musician himself.

The evening began with a lively performance from the Homeless Ukulele Band. Their festive Christmas songs set a cheerful tone and had the audience tapping along. After the performance, Beth, COO of LifewithArt, welcomed attendees and spoke about the important role music plays in building connections and supporting creativity within the community.

Guests then took part in an interactive workshop style music session, allowing everyone to engage directly with music-making. This led into the screening of the short film, which highlighted Jeff Drummer’s work and his contributions to community music. Following the film, Jeff performed live with support from LifewithArt’s music tutors, creating a memorable and engaging performance. The evening concluded with a collaborative set featuring LifewithArt participants from Change Grow Live, showcasing the power of music to bring people together.

Throughout the event, guests enjoyed a range of refreshments while taking in views over the London skyline. The atmosphere was further enriched by artwork produced by AgeUK participants in LifewithArt workshops. The evening was hugely enjoyable and reflected LifewithArt’s ongoing commitment to fostering artistic engagement and community through music.
