The Borough High Street Arts Centre has been alive with creativity this autumn, as participants from Cool it Art have taken part in a series of LifewithArt workshops. Over recent weeks, attendees have been exploring felting, quilling and etching, discovering new ways to express themselves and connect with others through art.
Each session offers more than just an opportunity to learn a technique — it’s a space for calm, confidence and community. Participants describe the classes as a highlight of their week, a time to relax and create in an atmosphere that’s both welcoming and inspiring.
“Thank you so much for the wonderful art classes! They are a life saver for me because they give me a break from being an unpaid carer,” one participant shared. “I can lose myself in the creativity and forget all my stress for a few hours.”
Others spoke about the sense of freedom and encouragement the workshops bring:
“The atmosphere is so relaxing and inspiring,” said Regina. “There are so many supplies and everyone can do their own thing. The instructors are so helpful and always teaching something new.”
Participants have produced a stunning range of work—from delicate quilled designs and soft felt creations to intricate etched prints inspired by foxes, moons and winter scenes.
“I’m becoming more confident using the etching technique and already planning to create my own Christmas card designs.” added Regina.
LifewithArt workshops continue to bring connection to Borough High Street—showing how powerful art can be.
