A happy and prosperous 2015 to all our service users, art teachers and operations team. A huge thank you to you all for your contributions to LifewithArt during 2014.

We were as busy as ever throughout last year, running an average of over 50 workshops a month around the UK – yes an astonishing number of over 600 in total for the year!! The quality of  both the artwork and the musical work produced never cease to amaze me and my fellow Trustees.

LifewithArt has also made a number of major grants this year. Teenage Cancer Trust has been able to decorate their new ward in Bristol with some wonderful artwork. Mencap in Huddersfield are constructing a “sensory garden” for their residents and we are delighted to have been able to support Mind The Gap Theatre Company, based in Bradford, the UK’s largest learning disability theatre company.

We continue to support MyAware’s research programme, ME Research UK, RDA’s education programme and a number of other ventures relating to assisting people with disabilities through the arts.

Our major “one off” event in 2014 was running art workshops at Teenage Cancer Trust’s ‘Find Your Sense of Tumour’ conference in Nottingham. Our teachers ran jewellery, photography and painting workshops which provided welcome light relief from some of the more demanding sessions which these incredibly brave youngsters were attending. Over 60 delegates contributed to the UV florescent Stellar Constellation pictured below, either through painting, poetry or written thoughts. This is the biggest collective artwork we have ever produced and we are all so proud of the artists who engaged in this project.

More of the same please for 2015 and again thanks to all who make our work so rewarding.
